Meet The Artist

Kwey!

I'm Drew Tenasco, I'm from Kitigan Zibi Quebec.I graduated from the Fanshawe college fine art program in 2021 and always wanted to have an art related career but due to covid I didn't find that chance. I thought about starting a business back then but I was a broke college student. I ended up working in the field of archaeology. Through my work I got to travel around Canada and one thing I noticed was a significant presence of Indigenous art in many major cities. This made me realise that Ottawa and the surrounding areas needed more native art. Art is a powerful way to assert our presence as Indigenous people. This sparked an idea: Indigenous-designed air fresheners. They are an affordable and practical way to bring Indigenous art into everyday life. Imagine if every car in Ottawa had a Tendesi air freshener—everyone would see that Indigenous people are here and thriving. Meegwetch!
